I hope you have been having a fine winter! Reports seem to be positive from commercial beekeepers so far, with moderate temperatures prevailing. Keeping an eye on bee food storage will be important, as unseasonal warmth can stimulate aggressive honey consumption. Fondant or pollen patties work well to tide bees over until spring sugar feeding or honey flow begins.
For those who are looking at expanding their bee yards, or starting from scratch, we are here to serve. We are taking orders for June 20th and June 27th pickup of Nucs. All Nucs are guaranteed quality proven Ontario bees. 50% down payment required to reserve.
I'm excited to announce that we will be hosting Beekeeping Classes, instructed by a professional beekeeper! Exact dates will be confirmed in the Spring. We plan to host classes throughout the beekeeping season to cover all duties required to manage a bee yard.
Visit our store Monday or Saturday, or by appointment. We stock a full line of hive equipment and treatments. Our website is under construction, products will be posted as time allows.
Wishing all a safe and prosperous season!
Regards, Joel Wideman.
